Bandits battle Vikings; Warriors face Knights

In week 3 Pop Warner action, the Charlotte Warriors traveled to North Fort Myers for a showdown with the Knights, while the Port Charlotte Bandits headed north to battle the Venice Vikings. The 14U Bandits traveled across the state to beat the West Boynton Wolfpack 8-7 in a wild game.

CHARLOTTE

Warriors 6U. The 6U Warriors ran behind a dominant line of David Rivera, Baylor Jones, Korbin Borowy, Nathan Cole, Callan Warner, Adrian Platt Jr., Grayson Hickey, Xavier Garcia and Everett Bostick. With big blocks, offensive MVP Taysen Lipke rushed for over 120 yards, three touchdowns, and an extra point. Catrell Hill and Titan LaBelle added extra points on the ground.

The defense was flying around all day, starting with Hill causing a fumble and Damari Jackson recovering the ball.

Leading the way on defense with six tackles was Jace McCafferty, followed by Jackson, Joshua “Jack” McHale and Hill, who each had four. The defensive MVP was Jackson, who made a crucial fourth-andgoal stop at the 1-yard line to keep the game at 14–13.

With that stop, the Dog Award goes to McHale, who rushed for over 100 yards, marching down the field to secure the 21–13 win for the Warriors over North Fort Myers.

8U Warriors 0, NFM 34. The 8U Warriors battled hard in the heat but came up short in a 0–34 matchup.

William Lisby sparked the offense with multiple big runs. Chase Young and Kevin Loether pounded the ball with tough carries, while Jessup Shackleford connected with Kevin Loether on an exciting catch-and-run play.

Joseph Sousa set the tone with tackles for loss, and Cannon Day delivered a huge hit and a stop on an extra-point attempt to fire up the sideline.

10U Warriors 13, NFM 12. The 10U Warriors came from behind in dramatic fashion to capture the victory.

On offense, Jerrett Marazon and birthday boy Taije Thomas delivered big carries behind an offensive line anchored by Gage Rainville, Dominic Sousa, Wesson Vásquez, Grant Taylor, Brock Simmons, Jaxson Tabar and Logan Detwiler. Ayden Johnson stepped into the QB role and led the offense and sealing the comeback with the game-winning touchdown run.

On defense, Nolan Lorino, Cam Warner, Colton Gerhart, and Kamden Knuttel all racked up multiple tackles. William Medler II delivered a huge goal-line stop, denying NFM a score and giving the Warriors the chance they needed to fight back.

11U Warriors 23, Cape Youth Storm 0. The 11U Charlotte Warriors delivered a dominant performance, shutting out their opponents 23–0 with a combination of smart offense and relentless defense.

The offense was led by Patrick Horne, Roman Cabrera, and Eli Collins, all of whom found the end zone to put points on the board. The team executed their plays with precision, moving the chains and keeping the pressure on their opponents.

The defense was a force to be reckoned with. Horne, Zayne, Rodgers, White, and Durrance flew around the field, making big tackles and key stops. Their teamwork and determination also resulted in a safety, helping to secure the 23–0 shutout. Every player contributed to keeping the opponents off balance, showing grit, focus, and excellent fundamentals.

12U Warriors 31, NFM 0. DeAndre Ward kicked off his birthday with big kickoff return to get the Charlotte warriors rolling. The offense kept up the pressure with Ty’Rique Haynes and Macari Blandin getting in the end zone.

Janxiel ran tough, and Brendan powered through on multiple carries. Tyler Pedro, Cade Warner, Zane Casey, Shamir McPherson, and Kolton Dugas blocked well for the Warriors.

The warriors defense dominated, with Braxton Stansbury, Colton Hensley, and Carter Barrett controlled the line. Javvias Jones and DeAndre Ward were monsters at DE, while DBs Austin Pierre, Brendan Jones, Jack Lanigan and Jahmir Jones locked everything down. They didn’t give up a point or a first down.

14U Warriors 47, NFM 0. The 14U Warriors demolished the North Fort Myers Knights in a commanding 47-0 victory.

The Warriors had an explosive start on offense, with standout performances from Jaden Campbell, Jordan Ware, Brantley White, Eddie, and Monte. Tyler and Hezekiah were phenomenal, providing excellent blocking down the field that allowed the running backs to score on long runs. The unit executed the game plan to perfection, keeping pressure on the Knights all game long.

The defense was just as strong, led by Hezekiah, Tyler, and Zander, for the shutout.

PORT CHARLOTTE

6U Bandits 40 Vikings 0. The offense was on fire all morning. The offensive line was firing off the ball and keep the running backs clean for most of the game. Akai Archer scored a TD on the first play of the game. Weston Waldrop had a TD, and Tracy Butler and Lucas Heraux each had two TDs. Zhayden Rutter, Nitrous Snyder and Butler each had extra points.

On defense, Otto Bond, Snyder, Joshua Boyle Jr., Greyson Opela, Hank Lange, Roman Pierce, Memphis Traw, and Greyson Rodriguez all were part of a dominating defensive line that held to the Vikinks to no points or first downs.

8U Bandits 38 vs Vikings 2. Jeter Denning led the Bandits offense with three touchdown runs and one TD pass. Jamarion Floyd scored two touchdowns, and Demetrius Green and Karson Richardson each had one.

Defense pitched a third straight shutout and forced two turnovers. Richardson had seven tackles, Jeremiah Williams had 4. Defensive standouts putting pressure on the Vikings included Xaiden Anderson, Tahmir Perry, Gavin Cote and Kanari Polk.

9U Bandits 35, Venice 0. Neyamia Simmons led the offense with multiple touchdowns. Also scoring touchdowns were Chase Goins and Azion Williams. Extra points were made by Owen McCurdy III, and kicking two extra points was Reed Garwood. Also playing well on offense was Grayson Lutz, Boston Keller, Kervens Desir and QB Walter Zubritsky.

Defense was led by Killian Batignani with an interception for a touchdown.

Aiden Ehrhart led all tacklers with four solo tackles. Samuel Gaspard with two sacks. Also playing well were Noah Brown, Ethor Louissaint and Krue Dowling.

10U Bandits 34, Vikings 6. Dayton Speek led the offense on five scoring drives while also throwing the ball well. Elias Simmons, Anthony Redden, Kenneth Christian, Kal-El Kurtz, & Alex Godwin all hit paydirt behind Alexander Rivers, Malachi Fulton and Nate Debus.

Defensively, Godwin and Simmons led the aggressive group. Kavarion Polk and Bobby Stevenson locked down the edge and Johnathan Milliman stepped up to make multiple tackles from different positions.

11U Bandits 0 Vikings 42. It was a tough game with the bandits never giving up. Mikerion Cunningham ran with purpose through the middle of the field behind lineman blocking of ishmeal Chavanas, Jordan Floyd and Kaison Barber.

Defense was all over the place with Floyd, Elias Torres, and King Bethune making great stops. Jaxden Reyes, Chandler Lynch and Cunningham had two pass breakups apiece, with Aiden Lowell having the lone interception.

12U Bandits 16 Vikings 36. Christian Gonzalez had a rushing touchdown.

Damani Lowe-Chin returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Noah Skinner kicked two 2-point conversions. Braylon Progl intercepted a pass.

14U Bandits, 8 West Boynton Wolfpack 7. The 14U Bandits traveled across the state to battle the West Boynton Wolfpack. Down 7-0 in the 3rd quarter Jack Grimes found Adam Sease for a touchdown pass. Koleton Robbins added the extra point kick. Gunnar Franzen and Troy Spier ran the ball well. The entire offensive line blocked well but the standout was Michael Kirsch having to step in to a new position on short notice.

On defense Clifton Cason recovered a fumble and Max Pumphrey had an interception that he returned 50 yards. Denali Gainer, Shane Poling, Ashton Harris, Jack Hackney, Sylas McNamara, Myrico Jackson and Sease all anchored the interior of the defense. Daeshaun Kinsey, Jeremiah Williams and Pumphreys played well in the secondary.
